The mother of Dr. Hayden Kho on Monday broke her silence to defend her son and get back at his critics amid the sex scandal that is hounding the embattled cosmetic surgeon.
In an exclusive interview with “TV Patrol World,” Irene Kho revealed that actress Katrina Halili was allegedly following a "script" when she came out in the open in connection with her sex video with Hayden.
“Ms. Katrina Halili, nabili na yang arte mo,” Irene said.
She also accused talent manager Lolit Solis of orchestrating Halili’s “acting.”
“Alam mo ang ginagawa mo kay Katrina Halili is scripted. Sinabi mo rin yan, huwag ka ng tumanggi… Ang ginawa mo kay Katrina Halili ay ini-script mo--kung kailan iiyak, kung anong a-artehan…. hindi ko alam kung sinong kasabwat mo,” Irene said.
She said she herself heard this from Solis when she was invited to go to a house to get a script last week. She said the incident happened after her son’s birthday. She said everybody who was present there heard Solis’ alleged admission.
She claimed that Solis had also purportedly told her to act to get the sympathy of the public. “Hindi ako nag-aarte. Hindi ako artista. Nasabi ni Lolit Solit sa akin, n’ong pinatawag ako, na ‘kailangan umiyak ka.’”
Holding up a crucifix in front of her, Irene said: “I’m just telling the truth. Na ito ay orchestrated ni Ms. Lolit Solis na very powerful.”
Irene claimed that, based on Solis’ alleged confession, Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. also called the talent manager.
“Tinawagan ka din ni kagalang-galang [senator] Bong Revilla,” she said.
Revilla was the first public figure to denounce Hayden after the cosmetic surgeon’s sex videos with Halili and other women spread on the Internet.
Irene also admitted that she got hurt when Revilla purportedly dragged her into the issue and uttered words against her.
“Nasasaktan lang po ako sa inyo kagalang-galang na Sen. Ramon Revilla. Kung bakit pati ako dinadamay mo dito. Ang sakit mong magsalita. Para bang wala na akong ginawang kabutihan sa aking anak,” she said.
Solis, Halili and Revilla are demanding for the revocation of Hayden’s license. Halili has already filed a complaint before the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and the Professional Regulation Commission. The Senate is also set to investigate the issue.
Drug addiction
Meanwhile, the cosmetic surgeon’s mother blamed Halili for Hayden’s drug addiction.
“Ms Katrina, ikaw ang naglulon sa anak ko sa droga. Alam din namin yan at sinabi na namin yan sa lawyer,” she said.
She said the actress has no right to seek the help of various organizations, including women’s group Gabriela, because it was she who allegedly dragged her son into this mess.
“Ang anak ko, katino-tino hanggang matapos siya sa medisina, mabait na bata. Anong ginawa mo? Nilulon mo sa droga. Anong klase kang babae na tatawagin mo ang mga Gabriela, lahat,” she said.
Hallili's lawyer, Raymund Palad, denied that Halili took illegal drugs or that she had pushed illegal drugs. Palad also said that Halili did not give illegal drugs to Kho.
Not afraid
Irene said she decided to come out because she and her family were already “very tired” and affected by the sex scandal. She said her husband was brought to a hospital after the issue broke out.
“Ako nanginginig. Hindi na ako makatulog dahil ang anak ko pinapaglaruan, bibigyan pa ng kanta. Ang aking anak tinatapakan,” she said. “Hindi kami artista, hindi kami showbiz. Kami ay taong may private life, simple lang kami.”
Irene maintained that her son is not what his critics are saying him to be. She said, like the rest of her children, Hayden is a decent person.
“Alam kong mabait ang anak ko. Bago sila mang-husga, tanungin muna nila kasi ang simula po nito. Si Katrina ang dahilan,” she said.
She admitted that her son had committed a mistake but she lamented that the judgments “are too much.”
She added that her family is ready to face any investigation to be conducted by Senate and the NBI.
